Msgr. Grieco, a native of Brooklyn, NY, was ordained in 1959 after receiving a BA in Philosophy from Catholic University in Washington, DC, an STB degree in Theology from Angelicum Pontifical University in Rome, Italy and an MA in Communications from Fairfield University in Connecticut. Immediately after his ordination, he assisted in missionary work in Hickman and Fulton, Kentucky. He has served as parochial vicar of several parishes in New Fairfield and Stamford, principal of Sacred Heart parochial school in Stamford, director of Project Head-Start, Spiritual Director of Notre Dame Girls' High School in Bridgeport, Diocesan Director of Religious Education, first chairman of the New England Diocesan Directors of Religious Education and Secretary for Evangelization. In 1975, Bishop Curtis appointed Msgr. Grieco the first Diocesan Director of Communications, responsible for communications to the broadcast and press media as well as public relations. In 1984, he founded and became editor-in-chief of Fairfield County Catholic, a monthly diocesan newspaper mailed to over 95,000 families. Msgr. Grieco was appointed pastor of St. Francis of Assisi parish in 1992
